Wylder Cooper is from Long Creek, South Carolina, and is a Graduate of Clemson University, where he earned his B.A. in Production Studies in Performing Arts, with a concentration in Lighting Design. In addition to being a freelance lighting and multimedia designer, he is in his second season as the Lead Lighting Technician at Actors Theatre of Louisville. Before moving to Louisville, he was the Master Electrician at The Warehouse Theatre. In 2016, he spent the summer as a Lighting apprentice at The Santa Fe Opera. Wylder has designed over 20 productions regionally at The Warehouse Theatre, Clemson University, and others.
Recent design credits include: Much Ado About Nothing, The Winter’s Tale, Horn in The West, Othello, A Streetcar Named Desire, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, Almost, Maine, and Urinetown. When he is not working in the theatre, Wylder enjoys mountain biking, hiking and whitewater kayaking. He would like to thank his friends and family for their constant support and encouragement.
